Qosmos Launches Qosmos ixEngine 5.0

Qosmos, a provider of software and hardware platforms, has released version 5.0 of its Qosmos ixEngine Software Development Kit (SDK).

According to the company, the latest version is built with new capabilities to mine more network data among an expanded set of applications, at higher speeds and with additional usability. It inherits advanced filtering and analysis capabilities for better management of mobile traffic and greater visibility at all levels and even supports latest mobile Webmail and Instant Messaging protocols.

Qosmos (News - Alert) enables solution providers to harness the network as a source for intelligence in and of itself,” said Thibaut Bechetoille, CEO of Qosmos. “Applications and services that are powered by Qosmos Network Intelligence can scale with the exponential increases in data communications, defend against the growing number of cyber threats, and capture additional revenues from the Internet.”

Qosmos Network Intelligence technology helps in identifying and extracting data travelling over networks in real time, which is helpful to wide variety of security and commercial applications such as lawful interception, cyber security, regulatory compliance, content billing, and service optimization.

Qosmos ixEngine (News - Alert) 5.0 is built to generate any HTTP plug-in automatically and can identify more than 300 different network and application protocols, and extracts 4,000 different metadata. It can also update protocol and application signatures that help in ensuring third-party solutions are future-proof, says the company.

Qosmos ixEngine 5.0 supports wide variety of standard platforms, including 64-bit processors, advanced symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) support for scalability of up to 96 cores and Linux Standard Base (LSB) 3.x. The greater range of supported environments optimizes both system development and solution performance.

Officials at Qosmos said the new ixEngine helps software vendors and network equipment providers ensure optimal performance, enhance the security and protect the profitability of their applications and services for telecom operator, enterprise and government markets.

The company plans to introduce Qosmos ixEngine 5.0 commercially in September.
