Digium Introduces Channel Certification Program

June 16, 2010

Digium, Inc., the Asterisk (News - Alert) Company, has introduced the Digium Channel Certification program, enabling Digium channel partners to enhance their expertise in the business phone systems marketplace and increase their sales of Digium's (News - Alert) unified communications and custom VoIP telephony solutions.

Officials with Digium said that the new training and certification program officially recognizes partners for their specializations in Digium's Switchvox (News - Alert) unified communications offering and/or Asterisk telephony solutions.

Company officials said that Digium's Select and Registered Channel Partners may now become Certified Switchvox Partners by completing the Switchvox online training requirements.

This certification ensures these partners have the expertise to sell, configure, and support Digium's Switchvox SMB solutions. As a powerful unified communications platform, this solution integrates an easy-to-use web interface with innovative features such as fax, chat and video calling.

According to company officials, organizations that wish to be recognized as Certified Asterisk Integration Partners must execute a Digium Select or Registered Channel Partner (News - Alert) Agreement and pass the Digium Certified Asterisk Professional (dCAP) exam and online Digium product training.

This ensures these partners have the necessary expertise to design, implement and support Digium telephony solutions based on Asterisk, the world's most popular open source telephony project.

They will also be featured on the Digium AsteriskExchange, the official online marketplace that connects users with Asterisk-based products and integrators who can help design and implement communications solutions.

Digium is actively recruiting new channel partners and offers training and certification to each partner category. In addition to the top-tier Select and mid-tier Registered partner levels, Digium also offers an entry-level Affiliate tier.

"Digium's Channel Certification program allows our partners to efficiently and cost-effectively become experts on Digium solutions," said Steve Harvey, vice president of worldwide sales, Digium, in a statement.

Harvey said that their expertise can be showcased to their potential customers, which adds credibility and profitability to the sale. It's been well-validated that channel partners who achieve certification generate significantly more revenue and profit than those who have not invested in certification, he added.

"Digium's Certification Program gave our sales team a good understanding of Unified Communications (News - Alert) by outlining Switchvox's unique capabilities and the best way to sell Switchvox," said David Wise, CEO of DOW Networks, a Digium Select partner.

"It demonstrates why Digium is a leader and helped us understand the whole dimension of the Digium product line. This certification adds credibility to our sales team and better prepares us to sell Digium solutions," said Wise.
