Airtel Unveils India's First Android Phone, the HTC Magic

Taiwan-based smartphone manufacturer HTC Corporation has teamed with Airtel to launch India’s first ‘Android’ (News - Alert)-powered mobile phone — the HTC Magic. Google Android offers users with a broad spectrum of mobile applications and services and is an open-source platform running on the Linux operating system.
 
The HTC (News - Alert) Magic comes in an red and black and provides features such as Android 1.5 OS, 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display, G-sensor, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Web browser, e-mail and a 3.2 autofocus camera with video recording. Customers also  get the HTC Magic at Airtel (News - Alert) Relationship Centers and authorized HTC resellers in 17 important Indian towns.
 
HTC Magic allows free data download of 100 MB per month for a period of 6 months for a period of 6 months. The Airtel Relationship Centres and authorised HTC resellers will sell the HTC Magic at a market price of $622.19.

Airtel provides various features with HTC Magic. They include Portfolio Manager, Hello Tunes Manager, Weather Channel, Mobshare (a mobile picture sharing application), In-Mobile Search, and City Search. HTC Magic provides better support and improved mobile internet experience. It also provides broad flexibility for personalization and is equipped with improved with cool HTC goodies like Smart Dialler and a versatile on-screen keyboard.
 
Recently, the company announced that its subscriber base has crossed five million mark in the Delhi circle making it the first mobile operator to achieve this landmark in a metro circle. Bharti Airtel, which crossed the subscriber base of 100 million in the country last month, said it added the last one million subscribers in only 13 months in the circle (NCR).
