Vyatta (News - Alert) announced the release of Vyatta Version 6.0 the latest product in its open network OS. This version contains complete routing and network security software.
The new version includes the new Vyatta Remote Access API, which enables customers to control Vyatta systems using in-house and third-party network management and provisioning systems. Vyatta Version 6.0 includes more than 30 enhancements for Vyatta Core and Vyatta Subscription Edition. It also introduces the first Vyatta Plus enhanced services.
The Vyatta Remote Access API simplifies network management for large deployments of Vyatta systems within enterprises and cloud-based service providers. The new API lowers operational costs by enabling fine-grained control over any number of Vyatta systems from the customers' existing enterprise management and provisioning systems.
Vyatta Subscription Edition enables Vyatta to innovate faster by accelerating the delivery of updates to all Vyatta users at the same time.
The Vyatta Core will contain all open source components of the Vyatta system and the Vyatta Subscription Edition will deliver additional value-added features such as the Vyatta Remote API. Vyatta Version 6.0 also offers subscription customers the first Vyatta Plus add-on service, VyattaGuard Web filtering that helps organizations implement Internet security policies and promote workplace productivity.
Ben Matthews, senior network engineer at Telarus (News - Alert) said that as the company continues to scale the network in Australia and New Zealand, Vyatta is the platform of choice for BGP routing. Matthews added that as the routing tables continue to blow up, it delivers important measurability and exceptional value. He said many of the new features in Version 6.0, including netflow support and Vyatta's API, offer important advantages in the company’s ability to monitor and manage the growing network.
Vyatta Version 6.0 Enhancements include Vyatta Core, Vyatta Subscription Edition, & Vyatta Plus.
Tom McCafferty, marketing director at Vyatta said the company delivers greater value compared to the competition and is also focused on improving the customer experience by making it easier to implement, maintain and manage the solution.
McCafferty called the Vyatta Version 6.0 a step forward for the community and customers due to the Open Core model, new Remote Access API, and new features.
