Alert) mobile application developers can now start building first-rate VoIP-enabled clients with its high-definition voice solution, called VoiceEngine Mobile.
Nimbuzz, a company named for its free mobile social messaging application, will be GIPS’ first customer to deploy the VoiceEngine Mobile application on Android mobile phones.
According to GIPS, the VoiceEngine Mobile is part of the company’s
VoiceEngine family, which encompasses packaged solutions that handle all the necessary voice processing tasks for IP networks, thereby offering high-quality voice even under adverse network conditions.
GIPS’ VoiceEngine family gives application developers, service providers as well as hardware manufacturers the ability to easily build complex voice processing technologies into their solutions, without perturbing about the effects of delay, jitter, packet loss, background noise and echo.
The VoiceEngine Mobile provides additional advanced VoIP capabilities to mobile applications: It not only handles complex voice processing on smartphones, dual-mode phones and PDAs, but it also helps applications to overcome limitations that are inherent to mobile VoIP, such as extreme packet loss on WiFi networks and excessive background noise and echo in mobile environments. According to Roar Hagen, CTO at GIPS, the company’s VoiceEngine now allows Android developers to build VoIP-enabled applications, which provide high-definition voice. Plus, it can also tackle all the typical IP network issues, including delay, jitter, and bandwidth constraints, in addition to packet loss, noise and echo.
