Infobright and Talend Launch Open Source Solutions for Enhanced Data Warehousing

Infobright, a provider of open source data warehousing solutions, and Talend, a provider of open source data integration solutions, reportedly collaborated to introduce two integrated virtual machines to the market.

In the first virtual machine, Infobright Community Edition, or “ICE,” an analytic database by Infobright has been integrated with Talend Open Studio, an open source data integration tool. The same two products have been attached with JasperServer Community Edition, an open source report server by JasperServer, in the second virtual machine, that offers an end-to-end business intelligence solution.

According to Susan Davis, vice president, Marketing, Infobright, together, Infobright, Talend and Jaspersoft are combining the rich capabilities that today's businesses need to leverage their ever increasing and diverse data assets. Davis added that offering a quick path to deployment, these solutions enable users to take advantage of all the benefits, such as flexibility and cost effectiveness, which open source has to offer.

Both Infobright and Talend claim to have large and vibrant open source communities, which will be helpful in enhancing these virtual machines.

Talend Open Studio is a well known open source data integration tool and has been downloaded over five million times till now, while Infobright leverages the potential of MySQL, a remarkable open source database.

With the combined efforts by both these companies, developers will be able to enjoy the solutions that will help them in quickly and easily downloading, installing, testing and deploying a powerful, self-managing analytic database. Apart from that, the solutions will provide an extract-transform-load, or “ETL,” tool and business intelligence functionality to the users as well.

The self-managing software by Infobright banks upon the potential of standard servers, and deploys its data compression and elimination of indexes, data partitioning or data duplication thereby requiring far less storage than other products, and reduces administrative efforts by up to 90 percent. Customers of the company will now be able to use the virtual machines to access innovative and affordable database, data integration and BI capabilities within a single offering.

Yves de Montcheuil, vice president, Marketing, Talend, said that the company is pleased to extend its partnership with Infobright through the release of these compelling new open source offerings. Moncheuil added that company’s user communities can now benefit from an easy to deploy, low-cost opportunity to get up and running with an integrated, end-to-end solution that enables them to load and analyze large amounts of data faster than ever before.

Recently, Infobright announced to offer an optimized connector for loading its Data Warehouse solution. The connector makes use of Pentaho data integration.
