Vyatta and technology partner
OpenVPN are collaborating to deliver an auto-configuring VPN solution for branch offices and remote workers.
The partners will provide users with an integrated solution that will enable them to easily configure VPNs for remote sites. The companies claim this offering has the ability to bring down implementation time and maintenance costs while also delivering a complete VPN solution. All these benefits will be provided at a fraction of the cost of proprietary solutions.
IT administrators can leverage the product integration to manage security associations via the OpenVPN Access Server interface in the datacenter. Once the new technology is integrated with Vyatta (

Alert), Vyatta nodes are able to quickly retrieve OpenVPN configuration parameters from a centralized OpenVPN-AS node over the network.
This process can virtually eliminate configuration mistakes and simplify the creation of OpenVPN tunnels throughout the enterprise. Vyatta already boasts strong SSL-based OpenVPN capabilities and it is further enhanced by the new technology integration.
Francis Dinha, CEO at OpenVPN said that smart companies use Vyatta to build out their networking infrastructures using a cost-effective, open platform. He finds Vyatta to
perfectly complement their OpenVPN Access Server solution and noted that a combination of two products can provide organizations with a simple and low-cost way to offer secure, private networking throughout the enterprise.
"The ability to set up low-cost, hassle-free VPNs using Vyatta and OpenVPN-AS is a key differentiator for budget-conscious companies building out their organizations or wanting to take advantage of the cost benefits of a remote workforce," said Dave Roberts, Vyatta's vice president of strategy and marketing.
