Funambol has
reportedly introduced a Software-as-a-Service mobile cloud sync and push e-mail solution to the market.
The company’s open source-based solution offers higher levels of mobile device compatibility. The open source software is supported by the world’s largest cross-platform mobile developer community and is also being tested on several smartphones.

Alert) say they’ve started the new service on hosted basis, and that the so- “Hosted Funambol” solution makes it quick and easy for mobile operators, device makers, portals, service providers and software vendors to provide mobile cloud sync and push e-mail services for their users.
The service is offered in Funambol Carrier Edition, which is deployed at world-class hosting facilities around the globe. In addition, it is brand-able, customizable and can be integrated with customer systems and enables companies to launch mobile cloud sync and push e-mail service quickly, without the need to acquire hardware, software and personnel. This helps customers reduce capital spending, speed time to market and reduce risk, says the company.
According to the company, the hosted Funambol is designed for large-scale deployments and for all markets around the world, with high guaranteed uptime. It claims to provide customer personnel with secure access to all system data, employing state-of-the-art security to protect end user data.
Also, it offers a unique capacity of localizing to different languages and can be transitioned from hosted to an on-premises deployment as customer needs change.
Funambol says it’s seen a surge in the number of users for its mobile cloud sync and push e-mail solution – thanks to their broad mobile device support, flexibility, low cost and risk reduction afforded by open source.
