Black Duck Software, a provider of products and services for accelerating software development through the managed use of open source and third-party code,
reportedly has released the latest version of its so-called “
Black Duck Suite.”
The management platform and an advanced enterprise-class solution integrates individual products to provide new levels of automation and efficiency, addressing the management, compliance and security challenges associated with open source.
“Black Duck offers the only unified suite of products designed to automate and simplify the managed reuse of open source code,” said Timothy Yeaton, president and chief executive officer at Black Duck.
“With the Black Duck Suite, development organizations can realize the transformational economics and increased velocities afforded by using open source, and do so at significant scale – while mitigating associated licensing, security and other risks,” Yeaton said.
Enhanced capabilities of the new release of the Black Duck Suite includes; Integrated platform architecture and common user interface, expanded security vulnerability tracking includes over 35,000 common vulnerabilities and exposures, expanded encryption coverage for export compliance by 36% to 450 standard algorithms, plus updates for the October 2008 BIS rules and all new Software Developer’s Kit with web services API.
