If blogging interests you but seems too much work, then micro -blogging may be the way to go.
Micro blogging is a form of blogging that allows users to publish brief updates either to be viewed by anyone or by a restricted group which can be chosen by the user.
Twingr.com is a free service for its users and the public alpha version is available from Nov.13. Stating that the company was aware of the many improvements the service required, company officials said users would have a big say in deciding how to go about these enhancements.
Calling Twingr.com an easy-to-use Web application, Pepe Amorin, vice president of marketing of Startups.com Network, said anyone could use the application to create a micro blogging group, community, or network.
“We felt there was a ready demand for such an application, yet no one was covering it,” Amorin said. “There was likewise a growing need within our company. Using the most popular micro blogging networks out there, we thought it would be great to have one of our own. Over time, the idea developed and we thought about letting anyone create their own micro blogging platform.”
Users of Twingr.com can create their own micro blogging community and invite friends and colleagues to it. They can also choose to follow their friends and be followed by them. To get started, users simply have to enter the name of their group and the URL.
Users can create micro blogging communities for personal use, for example to keep in touch with their family and friends or for professional reasons such as getting feedback or opinions for their Website, from company colleagues or community.
“Although Twingr.com was initially devised as a way for creating micro-blogging groups within enterprises (IE, business use), the feedback we are already having before the launch date tells us that people will be using it for much more than business,” Amorin said.
To set itself apart from other micro blogging services, Twingr.com says it will offer more than just the ability to create groups within a network. Users can create their own independent networks and enjoy total control over the various aspects of it, including monetization aspects, company sources said.
