OpenLogic, a provider of open source software solutions for enterprises, reportedly has introduced a set of new professional service packages to help companies identify, fine-tune and implement enterprise-ready open source products.

 

Open source generally is a natural choice for companies because it is highly cost-effective, though companies need help with the selection, migration and fine-tuning of the software, according to Kim Weins, senior vice president of marketing of OpenLogic. The new service packages help companies reduce costs while ensuring quick payback with any new technology, she said.

 

OpenLogic’s new offerings draw on the company’s knowledge of more than 450 enterprise-ready open source packages and experience working with Fortune 500 companies.

The open source performance tuning optimizes applications that use open source technologies, such as JBoss, Tomcat and ActiveMQ. The open source clustering helps configure and optimize clusters based on open source infrastructure, explains OpenLogic.
