Telephony environments, which are capable of satisfying the requirements of business applications with high-quality, can be created by utilizing Digium’s latest analog card in performance with Digium’s Asterisk software, standard PC platforms and Linux OS, the company says.
Digium’s analog cards can feature up to four foreign exchange subscriber (FXS) or foreign exchange office (FXO) modules, where FXS and FXO are the names of the two most common interfaces (ports or plugs) that are found in analog telephony environments. These modules are interchangeable and can eliminate the requirement for separate channel banks or access gateways. The AEX410 provides connectivity through these analog station (FXS) and trunk (FXO) modules to POTS.
Digium’s analog cards also accompany high performance Echo cancellation (HPEC) software, which is optional and is available to analog customers at no additional costs. This optional digital signal processor (DSP)-based 128ms line echo cancellation for AEX410 is provided by the company’s VPMADT032 G.168 module.
Digium’s analog cards leverage patent-pending VoiceBus technology. The VoiceBus technology enables analog cards to use an industry standard, bus-mastering interface, which are similar to those found in many PCs. The technology as well maximizes system compatibility and prevents system conflicts, Digium says.
The AEX410 is a peripheral component interconnect express (PCI-E) compliment to Digium’s already existing peripheral component interconnect (PCI)-based TDM410 product. Scaling of these analog cards can be achieved by adding additional cards, Digium says.
