Jaspersoft Corporation, a developer of open source business intelligence (BI) software, and Talend, a provider of open source data integration software, have teamed to develop the latest version of the JasperETL solution, designed specifically to include the features most used by Jaspersoft's BI customers.
Powered by Talend's open source data integration technology, this JasperETL package will combine the elements of Talend Integration Suite that are the most appropriate for BI users. The package is expected to meet Jaspersoft customers' requests for an ETL capability that delivers more power and flexibility in their BI deployments.
"This extension of our partnership with Talend builds on the success of our original agreement almost two years ago, and demonstrates the power and flexibility of the open source model to deliver optimized solutions for specific markets," said Brian Gentile, CEO of Jaspersoft. "We look forward to ongoing collaboration with Talend to meet customer needs across the globe."
Bertrand Diard, CEO and co-founder of Talend, is quite happy with the outcome.
"One of the strengths of open source software is the partner network that exists to provide customers with customized packages that address their most fundamental requirements," stated Diard. "The work we do with Jaspersoft is a perfect example of how open source collaboration can reach every level of the customer experience."
Jaspersoft and Talend have come together after nearly two years of a highly successful relationship where the companies cross-licensed their software in order to offer customers throughout the globe more choices and increased access to the best open source solutions.
"We reap the benefits of this expanded relationship between Jaspersoft and Talend," said Ken Schwartz, chief information officer, ALAS. ALAS is a company specializing in the financial services sector. "By embedding JasperETL into our financial services control platform, we get a fast and effective view of our data, as well as significant savings in our ETL deployment."
