MPower CRM Solution Now Available for Nonprofit Sector

MPower, a provider of open, flexible software for nonprofit constituent relationship management and fundraising, has announced the availability of its multi-organization solution.

MPower says the solution provides nonprofits with sister groups, affiliates and chapters the ability to have a single constituent database.

This single database has the ability to capture critical constituent data automatically from related entities as they enter the data into their own individual systems. That data includes such information as constituent name, contact details, motivations and interests, giving history, volunteer status, communication preferences and more.

The parent organization will have access to a complete view of all supporters to understand their motivations and giving patterns better, as well as to identify prospects for major giving. With this knowledge and insight, the nonprofits can more effectively market to all constituents and cultivate current and potential major donors.

MPower’s multi-organization solution is already being used by RBC Ministries, which markets books, music and multi-media products through a sister nonprofit, Discovery House Publishers. While both groups have U.S. and Canadian constituent databases, the MPower solution allows them to share a common pool of donors while each keeps its transactions separate.

“Although other vendors claim to have multi-organization functionality, nothing comes close to MPower’s solution, which solves a very real challenge for so many nonprofits,” said Tom Grothause, Director of Information Technology. “If we didn’t have MPower’s multi-company solution, we would face the challenge of synchronizing four constituent databases of 7 million people each or constructing a labyrinth system of codes to attempt to jam all four organizations’ transactional databases into a single system.”

He added: “Either scenario would have been a complete nightmare but, instead, our users now can sign into four different MPower sessions (one per organization) and simply toggle between windows to handle all transactions.”

MPower is a mature, full feature, open source CRM solution specifically designed for nonprofit organizations. It is available without licensing feeds and users have access to the source code in order to modify the software to meet their specific needs.

The MPower solution fills a specific need within the nonprofit sector as it is unique in its feature set offering. Because it is designed specifically for the nonprofit sector, it is better suited to address the everyday challenges that these organizations face. The flexibility and scalability of the solution make it an optimal choice for those organizations that are seeking to better manage their information.
