VYLmedia Cooperates with AsteriskCNAM for National Service

January 28, 2010

VYLmedia, formerly VoIPYourLife and a provider of enhanced VoIP service, has reportedly signed a partnership agreement with Caller ID name provider AsteriskCNAM to enable AsteriskCNAM augment the inbound Caller ID Name service for VYLmedia’s business VoIP customers.

“We have been testing their service for several weeks,” said Craig Brooks, vice president, Business Services, VYLmedia. “Their ability to access several sources quickly significantly improves results and reduces our need to manage multiple vendors. That in turn allows us to improve our service and focus more of our time on our core business.”.

The agreement will now allow VYLmedia to increase the accuracy of the inbound Caller ID Name for calls to its business customers using AsteriskCNAM’s proprietary Calling Name, or “CNAM,” database. The service, as stated will now allow VYLmedia to query the AsteriskCNAM database in real time during the setup of the call with the results returned in less than one tenth of a second. Also, VYLmedia will further list the Calling Name in the Call Detail Records, or “CDR,” available in real time.

“AsteriskCNAM was designed for VoIP Carriers with a special emphasis on integrating several Calling Name sources into a single proprietary database to outperform traditional CNAM services in reliability, timing and accuracy,” said Leah Shad, CEO at AsteriskCNAM.

“Partnering with a company like VYLmedia which is well known for their detailed attention to customer service is evidence that we have achieved our goal,” Shad added.

Reportedly, AsteriskCNAM servers are hosted in geographically distributed Data Centers around the U.S. to ensure quick response to customers’ Application Server.
