Digium and Braxtel Communications Announce Software Partnership

January 28, 2009

Big news from Digium, the Asterisk Company, and Braxtel Communications, a provider of comprehensive customer contact solutions. Both companies have announced that Braxtel has become a Digium Software Partner. As a partner, Braxtel will be able to offer its open source Contact Q contact center solution to small- to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) via Digium's extensive base of channel partners.

Nick Thwaites, CEO of Braxtel Communications, said: "We are excited about the partnership with Digium because we've been working with traditional PBX (News - Alert) vendors for many years, but feel that the Asterisk platform is not just the future, but the present. Braxtel believes that Contact Q will be successful within the Digium channel, not just because of the quality of the code, but also because our 12 years of experience helps us understand what the channel really requires from a contact center supplier, including pre-sales assistance, installation support and true 24-hour maintenance with proven service-level agreements."

Contact Q contact center software was created by Braxtel by building on experience gained from developing its Fluency Communications Suite, which previously won TMC’s (News - Alert) Inter@ction Solutions Magazine Product of the Year Award.

The company has over 12 years of experience implementing automated call distributor (ACD), interactive voice response (IVR), call recording and dialer applications and has long worked with traditional PBX vendors such as Avaya (News - Alert), Cisco and Nortel.

Digium, on the other hand, is the creator and driving force behind Asterisk, the open source voice communications software to manage VoIP calls for businesses and individuals. Asterisk powers Digium's family of software and hardware appliances, including AsteriskNOW, Asterisk Business Edition and Switchvox (News - Alert).

"Great new open source applications that work with Asterisk benefit everyone in the Asterisk ecosystem," said Jim Webster (News - Alert), director of technology partnerships for Digium.

"We're especially pleased when experienced market leaders such as Braxtel that supply professional-grade products like Contact Q embrace the open source model and deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions," Webster continued.

Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) and Digium, the Asterisk Company, will be hosting two new training courses at Digium|Asterisk World, February 2-4, 2009 in Miami, Florida.

Attendees can sign up for each training course at the Digium|Asterisk World Web site: www.digiumasteriskworld.com.
