Sangoma Celebrates Top Distributors at Inaugural Partner Summit

July 27, 2011

Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert), a provider of hardware and software components in the IP telephony space, celebrated the advent of its new fiscal year by bringing together its top global distributors for its inaugural Partner Summit. The event, which wrapped up last week in Toronto, included more than 20 of the telecom and datacom equipment maker's most successful partners.

The Canadian-based company used the event to introduce its distributors to new channels sales programs and marketing initiatives, as well as give them a window into the dozen new IP communication-related products that it will launch in the coming year. These products will help compliment the company's existing line of TDM Interface Board products.

In addition, Sangoma took the time to hand out special achievement awards to recognize its top distributors in each geographic region for the past year.

“It was an outstanding event,” Bill Wignall, CEO of Sangoma, noted in a statement. “We were able to deliver a tremendous amount of new information to our top performing distributors, build upon our personal and business relationships, as well as create some real esprit de corps among our partners.”

Wignall added that the initial feedback from partners who attended the first annual event was extremely strong, leading him to believe that the upcoming fiscal year will be “an incredible turning point for Sangoma.”

The event received ringing endorsements from several attendees, including Siddharth Mehta, CEO of Foremost System in India, who said that Sangoma made it clear that it is “doing everything needed to grow the company, and it's ALL about growth.”

Petros Papdimitrious, CEO of First Telecom, added that “it is obvious that Sangoma is sailing full speed ahead, we are very happy to be aboard!”

In related news, Sangoma announced that it is strengthening its sales team by adding two industry veterans, Tom Ray and Steve Davis (News - Alert).

Ray, former EVP of sales and marketing at Commetrex, will join Sangoma as its director of sales for North America. Meanwhile, Davis, who recently held senior roles at Mitel (News - Alert) and VegaStream, has been named Sangoma's new EMEA Sales Director.
